Truly organic Elderberry Syrup should be refrigerated while storing to be shipped and when received by the customer, in order to preserve maximum nutrient content. However, if our Premium Elderberry Syrup is left out for a few days (5-7 days), it will cause no harm or spoilage. But, it is important to refrigerate in order to preserve best taste, maximum effectiveness, and prevent fermentation.
Elderberry Syrup will ferment and become fizzy when left outside of the the refrigerator. However, it would be safe to consume, if one can handle the fermented taste. Meanwhile, if spoilage occurs due to mold or bacterial overgrowth, the taste will become bitter and completely off-putting. In case of spoilage, discard the Elderberry Syrup completely.
